Over the last week we have had the enormous task of packing up our whole house and trying to CRAM it all into storage. Finally it's finished, we have moved in with Rick's parents and are finishing off all the little tasks that need to be done before we leave.
We are also trying to spend this week catching up one last time with friends and family. We had the opportunity to see all the important people in our lives last Sunday when we threw one last BBQ before moving out. It was great to catch up with everyone and a big thank you to those who bought along a salad or food.......especially Robyn who made a huge cake, lots of salads and also provided us with bags of groceries.
We finally got our passport back from the Russian embassy last week and were able to quickly (after 5 hours waiting in line and 10 minutes total at the counter) get our Chinese visa. Now we have our passport safely in our possession with multiple visas in situ.
Our tickets are in the safe at STA travel ready to be picked up and we have almost all the equipment we need to take along. Last Friday we had to start our malaria meds which has given us both really dry lips and mouths, but i guess malaria would make us feel worse! So far no hallucinations or vivid nightmares which we are told are a side effect.
