Is had one hell of a day..
Got up around 8, read a bit of Jane Eyre, went for breakfast - possibly the only disappoining thing all day, the mushrooms in my ham mushroom omelette were, how shall I phrase it, interesting? nope. just nasty - went back to bed.
Woke up around 11 to a knock on my door from Anya inviting me to the waterfalls at 1pm. Sold.
So off I toddled to the waterfalls. And my God were they nice. I'm putting the photos on right away cos it was that nice, but they do not in any way do the place justice.
Imagine a path alongside a flowing brook, intersected by beautiful swimming holes of turrquoise blue, each with their own set of minature waterfalls
So we went swimming - as it turns out not with the people I went with, but with an English guy (Adam) and American girl (Amy) I met just after I got there. Oh well. Such is life!
And then I returned, showered and met Amy with her most beautiful friend Danielle, and went to eat vegetarian buffet for 5,000 Kip (25p) and then to watch a movie (unfortunately minus Danielle. Hmph), which was damn good. And then we endeavoured to get drunk. And this we did with some success. I admit quite freely that I can no longer hold my liquor. 2 weeks ago I could outdrink anyone. Today I would struggle to outdrink Mary the Nun. A few, albeit, large BeerLaos, a Lao Lao cocktail and some whisky had me done.
It's funny how you can travel the world, visit the most exotic places, see the most unspeakably beautiful side of life, eat the local delicacies, drink the local tipple, and feel free to be anything, do anything, go anywhere, and still find yourself chatting to the Manc guy next to you about the relative merits of Abduls Vs. Saajans kebabs in Fallowfield.
And today I had a hangover.

Bear!
. This path then leads up to a huge main waterfall, with it's own pool at the bottom and a cave you can get into by swimming under the fall.
