As you can imagine, Savannakhet wasn't the Swedish girl infested paradise I was told about.
In fact it is a fairly crumbling small town which doesn't have much to do or see. There's a nice plaza (as it's called, I'd called it a piazza but it means the same so who cares...). Well, by nice, I mean it could be nice. The word 'shame' springs to mind when thinking about Savannakhet, as the old colonial buildings, including the Piazza and the Church at the head of it, could be really nice, giving the place a nice feel. But instead they're knackered, giving the place a knackered feel.

After an evening here, and a days' wandering in the extreme heat of day I caught the night bus to Vientiane to meet up with my girlies.

Whence, upon the moto that took me to the bus station, I saw the other end of the town. Which is really nice. And pretty lively, and looked, well, alright. Lying Planet does it again, giving the impression that wher ewe stayed is where it's at. Hmph...

Oh well. Get me on the bus and feed me valium.
