One helluva road trip.

We left Yulara early on and headed through the desert again. This time we had to go 800KMs to any kind of destination. And this time there was REALLY nothing. I mean nothing.

There's a sign that says "Warning, 815 KMs with no petrol available" basically. Out there it's all Aboriginal communities run by white folks. This means they are all dry so the Aborigines aren't allowed to drink. Because they can't drink and they have not much else to do because of the way they've been so disgustingly shat on (by us Brits 1st then the Ozzies) they sniff the petrol fumes. Because they did this, they took away petrol! All you can get is Diesel and Unleaded Replacement fuel.

Luckily we could use the Unleaded Replacement.

About halfway across the desert we were a bit bored of the same normal unsealed road so thought we'd off road it a while after we saw there was an abandoned homestead on the map. So we drove down a tiny track road for an hour and came to a bush camping site called Point Sunday. This is what road trips are for. A stunning little rocky outcrop in the missle of nowhere. You couldnt see anything except trees as far as you looked in any direction.

We hit up the fire, put out the tents, started cooking the sausages on the fire, slapped on the Simon and Garfunkel and just chilled out. There was just us, a bbq and the brightest stars you've ever seen.

Next day we went for a wander to the top of Point Sunday, wandering past the wallaby skeletons and whatever else you like. Include a 5 inch grasshopper. HUGE. Then we headed on. Turning right down the trak road for 132KM to Laverton. This took a bloody long time and was the worst bloody road.

Pretty pissed off that i only seen one kangaroo in 2 weeks of being on the road in the outback, but at least i saw one. And it was cool.

Eventually got to Laverton, nothing there. Left and went to Leonora. Nothing there. So we went to Kalgoorlie. Kalgoorlie is a big goldmining town and everyone in our hostel was there working. The money is bloody good. But we hung around for 5 days didnt work and then left. We only stayed that long because the car was having a bit of work done. Should have taken half a day. Took 4 including the weekend. Bloody Aussies. They can win the Commonwealth games but they can't mend a bloody car.

Good times in Kalgoorlie though. Including the token dance offs i had on the Saturday night. Had about 10, won them all, and came out with the immortal line "Just cos you're a F@*"in Dyke, dunt mean you can outdance me" when an angry KD Lang fan tried to beat me. Stupid stupid girl. Will they never learn. And Duncan, yes I do blame you for me doing stupid things like that.

And then we left for Perth.
