Orange isnt on most travellers lists of top places to visit in Oz.....shame as its a lovely , so luckily for us we had the place to ourselves! Sue and Jonh took us to a couple of wineries and we were spoilt rotten. You may have to book an appointment = good sign, as you dont get caught up with a bus load of people on a binge session. We checked out Bloodwood first ,the owner / wine maker Rhanda Doyle took us through her wines. She is a larger than life character and reminded me of Rosemary Moon ....if your reading this  Rosemary you have a twin!
Afetr lunch we also went to Printhie Wines and James Swallow or "Mr Printhie" Snr spoilt us with his wines = a top day : o ) Mable

After the peace of Canberra Orange proved to be very much the same.  The drive there took Mac through some old Australian towns, just like they had in the tv series The Sullivans.  Wine tasting was good,Mac even made some notes.
Cab Sauv- Like old leather from a hand crafted English arm chair, sitting by a roaring fire while Gerrald the Golden Labrador sleeps of a busy moning having mated with the next doors pedigree crufts winning poodle.
Riesling - Tasted like it had been strained through a jock strap that had not been washed for 10 years.
Mable did not agree and bought the Riesling.  Orange has big skies as the town is so high up and nosiy frogs and birds in the Botanical garden, next to Johns house.  It was nice.  Mac
