After getting off the overnight sleeper at 4.30 in the morning Mac was not the bounciest of people  The thought of a decent cup of coffee in the Highlands Coffee shop they past on the way to the hotel kept him going, until he found it was shut..... well it was only 6.15!  A cup of sweet Vietnamese coffee sitting in a childs plastic chair on the side of the road cheered him up, a bit.  Still train lagged is was off for a three hour cyclo ride around the city.  The real risk of being killed every second soon woke him up.  The War Museum was very good and the old post office fantastic, built by the French you know.  After Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh was a bit of a let down, still mad but Mac just didn't like it..... It was time to say good-buy to Vietnam, overall it was good, hot, nice food and mad... read the Lukes for the final appraisal.  Mac

The early morning Cyclo ride was just the right thing to get the blood racing and as my driver only had one eye it added to the sense of adventure. The war remenants musem explaind alot and although upsetting its worth a visit,  take tissues and an open mind. The tunnels were not as bad as Mac makes out.....there is light at the end of them! However, if your on the well built side or not into confined spaces, give it a miss as turning round is tricky. They have exhibits of the traps the Viet Con made.....ingenious use of natural resources, if "barbaric"but thats war" for you! Mable x
