We did a busy and at times dangerous section of the Wall of 30 towers, ending at Simitai youth hostle.
The Mongolian women trek 3 hrs to meet you on the wall and walk with you....until they can sell you some pictures, then they go back and do it all again.
TOP TIP, if you feel obliged to buy someting get postcards, they will deny they have any BUT they do, and keep going until you reach about 20y. They annoying thing is that once they leave some even wrinklier old bloke will come up and offer you some post cards for 5y......
We walked for about 4hrs and couldn't have done anymore...these women are about 100 years old and run up and down it! The youth hostel was fine, the food was fantastic, considering its in the middle of nowhere, but there was no heating and limited hot water.
Mac and Mabel managed to make lots of new friends, all the girls think he looks like Brad Pitt. It was then back into the bus for the drive back to Beijing, with the half-way stop at the Mc D.
