By now a little tired of Italy we welcomed the French border.  We were to come back to France after visiting Spain and Portugal so our plan for now was to visit another friend of Edyta's, E. and then get to Spain as soon as possible.
E. lives in a small town called Lunel, between Montpellier and Nimes.  The town itself is rather unattractive but it is just 10 km from the Mediterranean coast. 
I guess this explains the prices of Real Estate which easily match those of Melbourne.  Well, we certainly would not swap!
We stayed a couple of days resting and, for unknown reasons, I started suffering an unpleasant and annoying pain in the shoulder and upper arm that was to bother me for the remainder of the trip.
