Set off from the field to find the camper had sunk into the grass overnight. It would only drive backwards and just spun in forward so backed around in a big arc. Bought some sarnies from the empty cafe as a gesture of goodwill for the use of the field. They got the better deal. Continued over the pass in mist and rain until the other side when there was bright sun. Went on to Hamner Springs when pat and I had a private spa. very flash soft music and lights and one wall all glass looking into a private garden. Had a go in all the pools before setting off for Kaikoura. Went the back road. very scenic but windy and got set up in a campsite near the town centre ready for our Alabtross trip in the morning.
