Sunday morning had lie in after the trials of the night before and had a leisurly breakfast sitting outside. Spent a bit of time trying to arrange a visit to look for gorrillas in Uganda but the only agent that claimed to have permits looked increasingly dodgy. Price and itinery kept changing. Different people kept responding and I knew from the only reputable firm I had been in touch with that permits were allocated. Emails kept bouncing back and when I phoned got a women who sounded like she had just woken up and gave yet another story. Clear this was going nowhere. Still fixed up shark diving and accommodation in Cape Town and talked to Janet and Tony who we hope to see there.
In afternoon hired a car and driver and went to the local market. Pestered a bit but it was very nice and Pat bought some necklaces. Went on to another more touristy market on the waterfront and had lunch there next to the Indian Ocean. Mine was chewy goat. It's nice to know animals here clearly have a long and happy life before the end up in the cooking pot. Bought a few things. Pat found a shop selling Tanzanite but it was shut. What a tragedy!
In the evening met up with Labour MP John Mann, Liberal Lord Jones and his wife Katie and a guy from Difd who was on the the plane. Very pleasant evening and Pat and Katie got on well. They had come via Niarobi but sadly their luggage hadn't Around midnight the rest of the delegation appeared and I met them as I felt it was my duty as leader of the delegation.
