Once again we awoke to the obligatory rain pitter-pattering on the roof. Since we had nothing scheduled specifically for today, we stayed at the trailer for a while and did laundry. We ran out of cold weather clothes again. Will warmer weather ever arrive? We were to hike to a waterfall, but we will see if the weather cooperates for that one. We did not make it to the waterfall as the rain kept up most of the morning. We did drive and walk to Ward Lake which was not very impressive. We spent a little time taking one last look at the shops before the cruise ships left and the shops closed up tight.
After dinner we returned the area where we had seen the bears the night before. There were several bears, but really too far away to get any really nice photos. They will be closer after the salmon start to run up the river. We will not be there then, however.
On our way back we stopped for Fred to look for a geocaches which he could not get to, and an eagle landed in a tree near the car. It made for some good photo ops.
There was no sleep for us this night as we had to be at the ferry at 2:15 am. We did not even try to get any sleep since we needed time to close up the trailer. Tomorrow we will be in Wrangell.
