Over the hills and far away

The bus dropped me at Gazi Antrep at midday, so I set off on what I expected to be a 40km spin to Killis, the last town before the Syrian border. The ride was actually nearly 70km, which I would never have attempted had I known. Fortunately it was downhill all the way and I covered the distance in record time, so maybe ignorance is bliss. There is a university in Killis, but no library. I think this fairly completely describes the town. The next morning I set off for Syria.
