Didn't have much time to spare in KL, just a day. Jeff and Sam kindly put us up again before our big flight to London. We thanked them by stealing their TV remote - long story but revenge is sweet.

Our hosts were quite hung on our free day so we just explored KL again ourselves. Liz went on the roller coaster in the mall and informs me that it is the best that she's ever been on. For dinner we had our first steaks in nearly two months at "The Ship" a westernised restaurant.

I have had a little time to think things over now and all that has happened to us so far. A friend once told me that "Asia changes you", he didn't elaborate at the time but I would agree with him now. I think that Liz and I are now stronger people and less naive.

When we first visited KL we were completely blown away with how weird and different it was. Now, after Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand I must say that Kuala Lumpur feels very tame - almost boring.

Also from the relentless amounts of people trying to scam us I think that we are much more street-wise. There is a flip side to this though as I have noticed that we now tend to assume the worst in people. We'll need to bear this in mind when we return to the real world.

Asia has perhaps made me a less serious person. This has probably been the first time in my life that I haven't had worry about work or career or study. It's been so long since I have had to think about any of that stuff I don't even care. We are really lucky to have been able to take a break from the usual nine-to-five and reevaluate our lives.

These thoughts and the ridiculous heat of Malaysia kept me up the night before our early flight. I passed time by wandering around town. Before dawn we were off to the airport, ready for our next adventure.

Europe here we come!
