Travis here --
Good news all around. Mom and Dad have arrived in SFO and are overnighting at the Travelodge. Altough it took a quick run through the Denver airport, they made both their flights.
Amy is currently in the air to Denver, and then on to San Jose.
Which leaves..... me! And I didn't make it very far.
Today was a crazy day for travel in BOS. An unexpected snow storm showed up and dumped several inches over the course of the day causing lots of delays. And the flights were already full due to the holidays to begin with. My BOS-DEN flight was oversold, so I offered to fly out tomorrow morning in exchange for some travel vouchers, a first class seat on the first direct BOS-SFO flight, and a night at the Hilton. This seemed like a good deal at the time, but it eventually got better. My flight which was supposed to leave at 3:32 pm ended up leaving at 6:46pm, meaning there was no chance I was going to make the connection in Denver and wouuld have had to either overnight there (on my dime!) or stay in Boston and go tomorrow anyway. So one way or the other, I was not going to get to CA tonight -- at least this way I get compensated for it. Good thing we allowed 24+ hours for everyone to transit to SFO -- looks like that was the right decision!
