We rode in a 20 mph headwind today and biking into the wind is a very difficult and sometimes painful experience. the only thing that saved us was that the hills have gotten smaller and easier. I think we are out of the killer mountains and hills now. I felt really strong today and we mostly all rode together to help each other through the wind. The roads sometimes are a little treacherous, but the support crew keeps us safe. we meet up with an occasional trucker loaded with lumber and trees and that scares me the most. we had an incident where we had to pull over because all I saw was a huge spike from this lumber truck and I fell over trying to get out of the way. I am fine- just a little embarrased to fall over in slow motion. the trip is going very well and I am thankful everyday to have been chosen for this incredible adventure.
