Still moving South. I just arrived in this busy port, which is only of interest to most travelers as a jump-off point for the islands off the east coast. However, due to my lack of interest in going to the famous full moon rager in Koi Samui, I am using this town as a jump-off point to the less populated, equally beautiful west coast islands, including Phuket.
I arrived here after a much more comfortable second class train. Which was suppose to have air-conditioning and a meal but only had windows that did not open, ceiling fans, and a meal of white rice and either green curry pork or bad fish. Needless to say, I slept a few hours and ate some white rice.
Tonight I am staying in The Queen Hotel. This lavish resort contains a dust-covered ceiling fan, so far at least 3 creepy crawly friends (a lizard and 2 HUGE roaches), a mattress on wood slates with no sheets (thank God I brought a couple of sarongs), and a drain in the floor between two silver foot rests. It's okay, it's only for ONE night. Then a 5 hour train ride to the beautiful coastal town of Krabi (I hope it's better than it sounds).
I will try to include more photos next time, this "resort" has a VERY slow Internet connection.
Adios, Dani
