Dale and I are finding out that Quartzite is a town in transition most of the time. The town is divided by I-10 and Hwy 95. From Hwy 95 to I-10, you will find RV dealers and tents. On the other side of I-10 is the town. Within the town you will find normal businesses but many, many RV parks and RV services. It seems this place fills up with RV's during the months of October through January. Quartzsite has different shows for the tent area. Right now it is the Rock and Gem show. Lots of pretty rocks, bling - blings and beads. Next week, the RV Show begins and the BLM land will fill up with boondockers. January 30 is the Craft Fair Show. We started our day running out to shop. You see, the tents are vendors that have everything anyone would want. We did find out that some vendors were no more than your average garage sale in Anywhere, USA. We stopped off at Too Crazy Ladies shack to get new Escapee Badges.
Too Crazy Ladies
After picking out what we wanted we found out that neither one of us had any cash on us. Thankfully, she said we could pay when we picked up the badges the next day. Rather than leave for home and money, we decided to walk the closest tents because we had a primo parking spot we didn't want to lose. Finally, we had to get home for money. After having lunch, we ran back to the tents. We picked a section - the Rice section - and started in the middle. We went to every one that day and didn't find a thing we needed. We were looking for nails to nail down our outdoor rug but they wanted a buck a piece for the nails.
So we headed for the local hardware store after stopping at LP gas stores looking for a flexible hose for our gas heater. No luck. We found our nails for 10 cents each and jumped on that bargin.
We returned home about 4, just in time for happy hour and greet and meet with the group. Check out Dale's "What's New" for yesterday at http://www.rvecafe.com to see photo's of everyone. Since this was our dinner we had some great Hors d'oeuvres! It was great seeing old faces and meeting new faces. One couple, from Tansmania joined us. They got the cheers for being the farest away coming to the rally. Tom had door prizes for the winning tickets and a 50/50 drawing. We didn't win a thing. Of course, registration was 1l to 2 and we were shopping!
A camp fire was

on taps for the evening and the guys did get one going. The day had turned out to be hot with no wind. It was awesome and very unusual for this time of year. I started the day wearing three layers and in no time had shed two of those layers.
