This morning we picked up stake and the wheels were rolling - toward Quartzsite and our Escapee Chapter Rally. More on that tomorrow as I have too many things to tell you about the last few days or maybe just yesterday!!!
First, here is a photo of the windmills in the Orange groves.
We picked up some veggies and fruit at the Market place in Old Town Yuma. We were leaving and did't really know if Quartzsite has any fresh anything. Then off to Cocopah for lunch with Kathy and Terry. When we got out of the vehicle, this bird was on the grass just pecking away at whatever.
Dale did some research and it is a Long Billed Curlew. Mostly found on the coast looking for crab. This one got lost on his migration route!!!We had a buffet - senior day with their casino card - $4.99. Sure glad we didn't pay full price.
We then headed out to the foothills to Wally World. We found a shortcut from our park. Figures since we were leaving the next morning! We joined the other crazy shoppers scurrying around scrounging for food. Their shelves were not very well stocked and there were some things I couldn't buy because of it. I asked the checkout gal what was up. She said it had been this busy since November and wasn't letting up. She said, and I quote, "Where the hell are they getting the money." I told her I was from Oregon down here to enjoy her sunshine. She had lived in my hometown, Klamath Falls, and her daughter still lived there. It is a very small world we live in.
We came home after shopping, put stuff away, went for one last swim and one last night of Pokeno. Bee Bee brought me a fan from Thailand. She also gave us a Tangelo (?). When I asked her for her address, well, shoot darn, she lives in Grants Pass. So we can get together with them when they get back home in March. It was sad leaving friends we made in just one week. I know the Pokeno group is going to miss my pennies!!!
This morning I cleaned house while Dale hitched up, we paid our electricity bill and blew out of Yuma headed for another adventure!

Cocopah
When we were in boondocking in Yuma this noise woke me up early. Like 5 a.m. Well, I can bet you know where my mind went. Yep, right to that very rude RVer who had to turn on his rig and then let it run for whatever reason. And everyone is hooked up to electricity! Go figure. After the next night, in our site, Dale said the traffic noise woke him up. Come to find out, it really was the windmills in the Orange groves. It did get cold at night. Melanie and Me
Yesterday, we had the fun pleasure of meeting one of the gals on Campground Crafters RV forum that I belong too. The Florida gals have been having all the fun getting together, so Melanie emailed me and we got together. Too fun!!!We picked up some veggies and fruit at the Market place in Old Town Yuma.
