Before I tell you about our day today, I would like to share something that is really special to me and a dear friend of mine. We both share a love for the sound that beats all other sounds in this world including a meadowlark or quail. The Marine Corps Air Station is based here and the jets practice. Yep, you guessed it - jet noise. Beautiful sound!
Another wonderful day greeted us. After breakfast, we headed off to the Tuesday Market in old town Yuma. Everyone had told us what a big deal it is. Well, I was sort of disappointed. Why? Because our markets in Medford and Grants Pass are huge for little towns. Not so this one. There was one produce stand. That was it for food products. Many clothes vendors but the prices were very high. Lots of jewelry but who wants jewelry on vacation! Well, you might but not me. Not this kind. We did stop for a burrito at Jose's stand. It was small, 2 bucks and delicious.
An owner of a restaurant caught us on the sidewalk. The magnet - Morgan and this man has Golden Retrievers also. And he was a talker. It was fun. After another walk down the market strip, we stopped at the produce and bought asparagus, cantaloupe, eggplant, kiwi, and a red onion - $8.50. The person that checked me out added all this up in his head and I sure hoped he knew his math. He had me checked out in less than 5 minutes.
We finally found Jo Anns Fabric store and I had a very good time buying yarn. I went in for one skien and ended up purchasing enough for an afghan and another scarf. It was a great sale! Dale went to Target next door to get the fly swatter and printer paper we missed the other day.
We came home, had lunch and I did a wash. I mossed on over to those doing crafts and found Kathy teaching a couple of gals how to crochet pot holders. Craft day is everyday and women bring their craft and do it together. Dale worked on getting the grim off the wheels of the truck. Very stubborn stuff. Then we took a swim and the water was so warm. We worked off come calories and Kathy joined us. Then a dip in the hot tub and we came back home. Dale resumed the wheel scrubbing and Kathy and I sat in the sun knitting. Now, I ask you, is that a vacation day or what!
We finally ate properly today. Lunch was at noon and dinner of salmon, Jose's asparagus, and baked potatoes. Now we won't be eating at 9 because of just eating when we wanted. Probably help us not snack most of the day too!!!
Many of the Po-Kee-No players will be gone to the casino to play bingo so I rooked Dale into playing tonight. That is a feat in itself. He is one lucky guy so we shall see how he does with this game. He is playing on my pennies so he better do good or it will be another trip to the bank.
So that was our exciting day. It was so nice just to do nothing. Finally!
We hope you all are well and happy wherever you are.
