Okay so we got through Germany and finally up into Denmark. Everyone said that it would be very difficult to hitchhike in Scandanavia, they are so wrong. Hitching in Denmark is as easy as in Ireland. Guess what mom!, we went to Billund. You are probably all asking yourselves what is so special about Billund. Well the original Lego Land and Lego factory is located in Billund, thats what. So finally after years and years of waiting, I have been to Lego Land. We also stopped at a little viking museum in Moesgard.
After that we headed north to the mighty land of Norway. While in Norway we did some hiking around Kristiansand and got lost because I was navigating. Of note to all travelers to Norway, bring lots and lots of cash, Norway is very expensive. We wandered to a few little places around the countryside and then we were off to Sweden.
Sweden is very pretty and you will know that if you try to hitchhike across it. This is because there is nothing in the middle except pretty scenery which you will look at for hours while trying to get a ride. Sadly though we never saw a single moose. I was bummed. Lets talk about Stolkholm though. Stockholm is by far one of the coolest cities I have ever been in. There was also a really nice festival going on while we were there. At the festival everyone was naked. (Just seeing if you are paying attention) Actually I think most everyone was clothed except maybe a few drunk people on the wharfs. Stockholm is made up of a bunch of islands all connected by bridges and the old town section is amazing. We have decided that some day we need to visit Stockholm again.
From Stockholm we went to Turku Abo. This is located in Finland even though it sounds like it should be Iraq. Turku Abo is nice enough but everyone told us that if you are in Finland just go to Helsinki because that is where everything is. So we did. In Helsinki we visited the astronomy department of Helsinki for Tamara's mom. Hey guess what everyone, Planet X isn't real and we aren't all going to die in October. Pheewwww that is a load of my mind, cause I was pretty stressed about killer planets from beyond our solar system. Back to Earth though. We wandered around Helsinki for the day and it is a cool place but we kept comparing it to Stockholm which I felt was way cooler. So we then tried to find a ferry to Poland. After looking at a bunch of different places for a few hours we found out that nobody has a ferry to Poland. So we ended up taking a ferry to Rostock in Germany.
Well what to say about Rostock, uhmm, we left. I am sure it is a nice place but we wanted to go to Berlin. Now we are here and we have seen the big sights, like the nude sunbathing park. Oh!, and the Berlin Wall, Checkpoint Charlie, 84 churches, 17 Embassies, and a partridge in a pear tree. My question is, What is up with all the bears in Berlin? Tamara just wants to know why none of the bratwurst stands have sauerkraut. Oh I bought The Hobbit in German. I will now attempt for a long time to read it. We are heading out soon to head to Wolfsburg to see the Volkswagen Museum. (There is a lego model of the Wolfsburg Factory in Lego Land) Well, bye from us for now.
