We stopped off in Queenstown to confirm the order for our new car when we get back, a very green Toyota Prius. Both excited about that, before heading off to Glenorchy, further up the lake and famous for scottish type scenery.

Unfortunately just as we arrived the heavens opened in a big way. We managed to find yet another idyllic spot and chilled out playing games and drinking tea and cake.

Thankfully the weather cleared up in the morning so we could complete our planned walk around the lake nature reserve.

The drive back along the lakeside was fantastic with wonderful mountain reflections in the water. We then had a long but scenic drive to the west coast and glacier country.
