13th to 14th Jan 2008 Another early rise to catch the Stray bus to the Coromandel Peninsula. Stopped off at Mount Eden for a great view of Auckland then we were on the road. We arrived at our destination around 2pm at a place called Hahei on the Coromandel peninsula. Some of the group decided to kayak to Cathedral cove and some, along with myself, decided to do the coastal walk. Cathedral cove is a beautiful little beach with a large rock that you can walk through to another beach. Walked back to the hostel along Hahei beach. On Monday, 14th (another early rise) we headed out of the Coromandel to Raglan, a small town famous for surfing. Along the way, we stopped off at Paeroa, a small town made famous for the L&P that they make - spring water with lemon, a sort of lemonade really. Arrived in Raglan around 2pm and a fantastic view of the Tasman Sea from our hostel. Decided to do a bush walk (an hour long round trip up and down and through the trees). After dinner went to the viewing platform and saw the sunset. That's all for now folks. Cheers, Duncan
