Sydney - my last days in Australia

30th Dec 07 to 2nd Jan 08
On Sunday, 30th, I got a ferry to Manly for the day and headed for the beach - it was "packed" with hardly a grain of sand available free. so I just had a walk along the esplanade and back to the Steyne bar for some lunch and a few beers. I headed back to the city and just had a walk along the "Rocks" area, taking a few photos etc. At night I went to Darling Harbour and had dinner in "Zaffran" a best Indian restaurant I have been to! After dinner I bumped into Martina and David from the Perth - Broome tour way back at the beginning of November and at the same time I bumped in to Kathrin from the Tasmania tour - small world!!
On the 31st Dec, the last day of 2007, I just had a walk around the city centre in the morning then headed to the Opera House for the night festivities, arrived around 3pm and the gates closed around 5pm as they had reached the capacity - so I waited 9 hours until the New Year. At least the fireworks were worth it and there was a supply of alcohol! On the 1st Jan 2008, I just had a chill out day and wandered through the city sights. At night I bumped in to Martina and David again at exactly the same place I met them 2 days prior - spooky!! Today, I have been to the 1st day's play of the 2nd Test between Australia and India at the SCG - had a great time.
