29th Oct to 1st Nov 2007
Well the last few days have been busy. On Monday, 29th I drove along to two people bay. On the way there I noticed 3 kangaroos just along the side of the road. I stopped and took a few photos. On closer inspection I noticed that 2 of them were carrying joeys. On to Two peoples bay and the scenery was amazing. The beach was deserted with only me on it. I then went further along the road to Little beach - even more breathtaking and yet again had the beach to myself before the rain came on and I had to run for the car. I drove back down the road, looking out for the 'roos but they had gone. I continued to Nanarup beach where again the scenery was fantastic and by this time the sun had come out. Further down the road I stopped off at Gull rock. I had to drive down a gravel track to get to it but the beach and views were worth it. Back into Albany and headed for Emu point where I had some lunch.
In the afternoon, I headed up to Mt Clarence for great 360 deg views of the town and coastline. Then I headed for Mt Adelaide to the old forts and barracks.
On Tues, 30th, I headed to the Porongorup and Stirling Ranges NPs. Walked up to Castle Rock, where the views where fantastic.
Yesterday I just had a relaxing day walking round the town taking in the sites. Visited "Brig Amity" which is an exact copy of the first ship to anchor in Albany.
Today, I left Albany behind and drove the 280kms to Ravensthorpe for a 1 night stop-over.
Not much to say about Ravensthorpe - a quiet, sleepy bush town. I took a drive out to Hoptoun on the coast - even more quieter and sleepier town.
That's all for now
