Ok so i've been off the net for a while but managed to get back on ! I kept up with my days and saved em in a word document, it was a few days ago so not too sure whats in  the content and think I was rambling a bit on one! so here they are and I'll try catch up! so much to say tho! whoohaaa! on there long!

Day 8 2nd Dec 2010

Today started of great woke up later than usual showered and everything and got myself down just after 9. Herman was there waiting to go through a few things with me, we talked through the running of the bar and what drinks are served and in what way to Italians and to other guests. There are some weird drinks that us english don't drink like grappa and other odd aperitifs ! that need to be served the correct way, Im a bit nervous about that as messing them up can be insulting! also worked how to use the till everything rounded up €3,50 or €6 so change shouldn't be too bad! also sorted out the bar cleaned everything and made sure we had all the stock ready to go.

Herman talked about the hours I would be working and mentioned that I would be working one day on one day off alternate days with the other Bar guy robin who's english……this is quality still have to work out what days which were gonna discuss in the next few days but that could mean 3 DAYS a week of full boarding ! also my shift starts at 4 you have to be off the mountain at 4 so thats also a big bonus!

Today I moved into Staff quarters…..Im sharing a room with an Italian guy called Andreas he doesn't speak much english and it's weird sharing a room again I literally don't know what to say or even how to say ! so annoying weird and awkward,  but hey what can you do! i'm either gonna have to really brush up on my Italian or well there is no other way if I'm to share a room with another guy for 5 months then I'm gonna have to start speaking the Lingo, Christ I'm working in Italy and I cant speak the frigid language! Freaking out right now, quietly and composed as he cant tell!
Madness wish i'da done more Italian lessons, but I guess nothing can prepare you for actually conversing with one another. Oh I'm crap with names also so how I'm gonna remember anyones name I don't know ! saying that I met the new Head Chef and he seems nice again didn't catch his name but he said his friends call him "Fo Fo" loving that right there. There's also Franchella or Franchesca or sommat! must keep thinking, one day on one day off. Just been for a wazz and thought I got locked in lol. well its 8 now and I just don't know what to do with myself, I'd be working if its was one of my working days ! ! and probe doing this if not so I should stop moaning !
No internet either as it has run out, There we go again moaning !! I'm not sure what will be best to get an contract or pay for the Hotel internet, seems a bit cheeky asking Herman as its really for the guests, Mati who works here was saying in broken v broken english its cheaper to get a dongle thing and also get a sim card for my phone which I can get from Verres.

Tonights gonna be a cold one and there is a draft coming from the window (see another moan) just gonna have to grin and bear it I guess. Had tea with everyone at 7 it was real nice the chef knows I'm veggie and cooked some pasta, like that pasta with frilly bits and pesto inside and also cooked like an egg omelette which was cut like quiche with vegetables, that was sweet as, I still feel uncomfortable at meal times, they do eat so differently and its an insult if I come across as 'typical english' just want to make a good impression, leaving food swell is it bad to leave food not on your plate but if there's more portions do you go eat it just to be nice or is it rude to take more than you think is your share? didn't have an apple tonight because I didn't know how to or didn't have the balls to say "may I have an apple" ! if you've stopped reading this because you think i'm moaning you do right, I've just read back what i've written…winge winge winge! Its bloody snowing mate! get a grip! all my boarding gear is under my bed ! as there is no space in our room for me to stick my stuff, so its under the bed ready and poised for the lifts to be opened and for me to have a free day…here comes another moan….. I checked out the price of ski passes yesterday when I had internet, shit the bed NOT CHEAP! well under estimated that one ! €720 about 650 for the full season, I know now I wont be Boarding everyday although i could coz I start work at 4 so buying a season ticket might not be the best idea, you can get day passes, see this is where it gets tricky the ski area Monterosa have been very cunning they have the season and within the season at certain times where the prices change, as you can imagine at certain times it gets busier so if i was to get a day pass say tomorrow it would be €29 then from the 9/12/10 the price goes up to €31 until the 3rd Jan then back down to €29. You can also get specific area passes as there are more than one ski area which have different lift operations but the prices are much the same as getting a full mountain day pass.

Need a bit of help maths was never a strong point for me…..!

I'm here for 5 months €720 for a full season boarding everyday. we've established or i've come round to the idea I'm not gonna be boarding every day so 6 months = about 120 days not included Dec!
working one day on one day off mon TUES wed THURS fri SAT sun. €29 a day x 3 days = €87 a week for 17 weeks (120 7) = €1479 so how the frigg is that ! Now I am well lost, ah well you get the method of my madness.

Oh you can buy a half Season ticket for €465 think i'll do that feb 7th - may 1st!
