While waiting for my shuttle bus which I booked and paid for the previous day I feed the street cats.
When the bus arrive he looks at my bike box and simply say "No". After talking with the person at the hostel he leaves. Strange how no one working at the hostel when making the booking mentioned this well known fact about bikes and shuttle bus. I was the biker guy - had my bike in pieces all over the hostel and asked several times for help finding things to pack my bike. The guy orders me a cab. Now there are larger square cabs similar to minivans, but is that what I get no. I get the standard Fiat small cab. after trying to get it in the bake seat it goes in the trunk and he secures it with a bungee cord after several minutes of fiddling around. At least he got me there fast and secure. He received a big tip as I was unloading all my change on him.
At the airport I go to switch my SIM card in my phone to my regular one. Damn I think I lost it. Wait maybe I put it in the camera case. Damn I think I misplaced that at some point to. It may be somewhere packed with bike stuff. I will find out later.
Pretty much the trip home went smoothly except when I landed in the new Terminal 5 at Heathrow they quickly put us on a bus for 30 minutes to crappy Terminal 3 where Air Canada flies out of. I hate Terminal 3.
I get on my connector and that is the end of my journey. When I arrive it was amazing to see Cat waiting. We went home had pizza and relaxed.
Will I do another bike trip any time soon? No.
Am I glad I did this? Yes.
Was it awesome? Yes!
I hope you enjoyed my stories of the weird and wonderful journey I just took. Thank you for following and please make comments - especially funny ones.
Take care everyone,
