Just started my 3rd week and this is the first day where there was no rain at all. I mean some days it only rained a little bit but there was still rain. With this mostly sunny day came the dreaded, "it is too damn hot and when I stop biking my whole body starts to feel like ball sweat" feeling. Of course it is hard to get a feel of the heat when you always have a breeze but at the end of the day the heat was radiating from my body a lot.

The good thing about the long distance today was that it was on the Great Hungarian Plain so it was almost completely flat. Shades of biking outside of Winnipeg.

It was hard leaving Cat as I would not see her again until I reached Bucharest (and she was leaving to go hang out at a Croatian coastal town for a few days).
The big highlight of the day was in Kalocsa and visiting the infamous Paprika Museum. I just love paprika dontcha know (reference to Martin Short's Ed Grimley character from SNL in 1980s). Actually I really only went there because Cat loves paprika. It is everywhere in Norway - it is like their spicy spice (seriously). The place moved and was in small house. I was only there to say I was there not to learn about the history and importance of paprika to the history of the Hungarian plain.

When I finally got checked into the Duna Wellness Centre (they have a lot of these places but it doesn't mean anything other than they have at least one massage table somewhere in the building). I went for a walk and it was 34 degrees at 7:15 pm. I am so glad there is no A/C in my room. It was a changing point for the trip. Now I have to worry about heat exhaustion. Plus my really funny biker tan is coming along well at this point.

Baja is a very quite town especially for a Friday night considering I was right in the centrum. Days like today I try not to do too much as just casually stroll around and relax and try not to look too much like a tourist.
