After a great day in Budapest walking around seeing the beautiful city and celebrating Cat's 26th birthday at the awesome Bock's Bistro what would we do today. Visit the museums, see the castle or Parliament. Not a chance when in Budapest you must visit the bath houses and we went to the first and largest in the city. We never got going until after noon - very relaxing day. My morning was spent trying to find damn laundry mat. walked past it several times. Only when I looked on the window there was a small sign saying laundry - the rest of the store only said Electric Internet Cafe and the laundry part was way in the back and could not be seen from street. Considering everyone goes there to laundry they may need to make a bigger sign. While waiting I was able to do a couple more updates to the blog. I get so little time and chance to do that.

The spectacular szechenyi bath house. This place is huge and I have no idea how many individual pools there are - all with different temperatures and different minerals. I guess  I could look it up and tell you, but I leave that to you.

the walk up Andrassy street was very nice tree-lines and full of historical houses and at the end was the beautiful
Városliget  (city park), which included the bath house. It is lines with several museums and galleries and at the entrance is
Heroes' Square  with great monument with dedicated to seven tribes that founded Hungary in 9th century. As we were admiring the place the rain started to pour. Not a big deal since we were going to hang out in a giant mineral bath anyway.

Back to the bath house. Once we figured out how everything work we headed for the outdoor heated mineral pools. after hanging out for awhile Gen went to explore only to come back excited about the rest of the building. The place was enormous and it had room after room of various pools, mineral baths and saunas. One sauna had a stone basin where ice came out to help close your pours after sitting the sauna. There is not an ice covered lake to jump in naked like in Scandinavia. One of the signs had a list in the minerals in the pool _ I am not sure exactly what it all meant but Lithium was on the list!

I had my water proof sports camera in my pocket but had no idea what the policy was since I did not see anyone else taking pictures when we got there. So I snuck some pics and video as discretely as possible. (they will be uploaded at a later date since I do not have the proper cord with me to get them off the camera). After awhile I did notice others with camera so I was able to easily take better video and pics. I am really looking forward to seeing all the video I have taken on trip as I have not been able to view them so far.

At night we went to a small restaurant and relaxed on a small street near our apartment. Tomorrow back on the road.
