The only laundry-mat in Bratislava seems to be Flipper Wash which is way out on the West side. Screw that. Once I switched from the hostel to the apartments (literally the next door over) I got down to business and started hand washing everything in the bathtub. With my trusted detergent in one hand and absolutely nothing else as I was stark naked I began the hard task of washing the clothes. Man there was a lot of road dirt on those clothes. That happens, especially on wet days and the oil and grease rise to surface of the water on road and splash all over. Task down.
Let me go back to the start of the day. Both Penelope and I surprisingly had a semi-normal night's sleep
I really felt at ease in Bratislava and decided to not do the touristy places and just walk around and absorb the atmosphere. There is definitely a relaxed feel to the place even though it is fairly lively. The city is really modernizing without losing its sense of self direction and there is a lot of art work and free cultural experiences.
Finally Cat arrives - I am no longer on this journey by myself. Maybe my pictures will no longer need to be self-photobombed. I made spaghetti for Cat - first time really cooking while on the trip. It turned out alright - just good to have cooked meal. It was great walking around the city with the girls - a different experience than by oneself. At this point my back was starting to become really bad - the only drawback of the day.
After all the issues in Vienna and the bad weather things were feeling great and my sense of self-adventure was back on track. It may have something to do with seeing Cat for the first time since I left Canada.
