Gabriel is an electrical engineering student studying at the Itaipu university, and also a part time English teacher. He offered me a lift back to town which given my options seemed a sensible way to go. On the way we started chatting, I told him I had just been to see the Dam and thought it was awesome, he told me he was study engineering - we raved about the Dam for a while like 2 engineers would. On the way back to the Centro he took me to see the 3 frontiers landmark. This is the point where the mighty Iguaçu river meets the even more mightier Parana River and where the Brazilian, Paraquayan and Argentinian borders meet too.
There are landmarks (large, pyramid shaped, coloured spikes) in each country as you can see in the pictures.
Gabriel and I then picked up his girlfriend, a beautiful language student called Tatiane, and they showed me the Foz night scene.
