Where I stayed
What I did
Hallie and I each checked in a piece of luggage. Hallie had one of the small suitcases and it weighed about 35lbs. and I had one of the larger suitcases and it was 49.5lbs. That was OK since I had about 10 lbs. of gifts that we were bringing to Hallie's host family and the Henigs.
We checked in! There was no problem. We went through security and there was no problem. Then we had to wait about 2 hours before we could board the plane.
I met Mary and her partner Bobi. They were very nice. I also met Jamie, the boy's coach. I of course knew Shawna. So the weirdest thing of all was that all of the C2 boys and C3 girls were wearing blue and all of the C1 girls were wearing yellow. There were a lot of parents from the C1 girls on the trip. The two groups stayed separate the whole time. There was absolutely no mingling of parents with the exception of Eric who is the team manager for the C1 girls. It was clear that the internal strife of the club was visible.
So we eventually boarded the plane. Hallie and I had each take food on the plane. IcelandAir serves no food. It has to be all bought. It was a nice fight. It took about 5 hours and we arrived in Iceland with plenty of time to meet our connecting flight to Copenhagen. While at the Keflavik Airport we roamed the shopping area and some of the kids got something to eat. Mary said that she purchased a piece of bread with gravalax and she just raved about it.
We then got our connecting flight to Copenhagen which departed about a half hour late.
