Headed out west for few hours in the morning to the Navada border. Then came back to SLC and had a look around. The city was founded by mormans in the 1800s and the main attraction is the temple in the middle of town, although it was closed. Received a knock on the door late last night and thought it was for something else (thought i had left that in Africa). now wondering if it was the actually the mormans.

Also headed up the hill to the state Capitol building. A very clean city - could eat your lunch off the pavement.

The first month of the road trip is over. For the trainspotters out there mileage to date is 6336 miles since leaving DC i.e around 10 thousand kilometres. Next stop is Yellowstone National Park, the world's first national park. That completes the U turn since leaving South Dakota (refer map).
