The ship docked pretty close to the city center, but they had a shuttle for us anyway. We still had to walk a way from where the bus dropped us off, crossing a busy street to get to the Plaza de Espana, from which all the main streets seem to radiate. I'm feeling pretty rotten, and my vertigo has come back (so it probably is my ears after all), but I've been walking pretty well, so I decided not to take my cane. Of course I took a tumble in the street, and a couple of young men came to my aid, though they had some trouble helping me up because I was having such bad vertigo I couldn't help them help me! I couldn't remember the Spanish word for "dizzy"-Coop, didn't someone use that as a Spanish name in Glaspy's class?
Anyway, I scraped my knee, but otherwise I'm fine. I walked around and looked at the churches, and I found a store with a good price on real European Fanta. The Fanta in Morocco was American-style, meaning bright orange.
We're here for only a half a day. I guess it's a bit farther to our next stop. I think everyone is ready to begin the crossing. I'm out of books again, so I have to go back up to scour the library. Mike told me to buy just one book in Spanish, that it would last me the rest of the trip.

yikes--a tumble!
Now I'm going to add 'dizzy' to my list of must know foreign words. Previously this list included only:
please, hungry, toilet, thank you and I love you.
tenerife--now that's a romatic moniker
Don't know why, but 'Tenerife' unaccountably brings up images in my mind of Gary Cooper in full Foreign Legion kit riding thru the desert with guys singing. I think it's Beau Geste and know it's all wrong, but that's my misconnect. Weird.
Fanta: they have Fanta made with sugar rather than corn syrup in Mexico. Tastes better--almost the European flavor. American orange, tho.
Hope your health improves soon.
