Hello again!
So we made it in one very wet piece to the Bangkok airport for our flight to Chiang Mai. Since they would still be celebrating Songkran in Chiang Mai, we didn't want to give up our water guns, so we took them on the plane with us - which was interesting. We definitely got a lot of funny looks!
We got to Chiang Mai mid afternoon, checked into our air-conditioning-less hostel (oops, my bad) and then walked around the festival and market for a bit. Grabbed a great dinner (no red thai curry!) and then got a little massage! Soooo nice....
For those who are wondering - Here is an update on 'The Beard'.
The beard is really coming into it's own. It seems to have inherited the Richardson curly tendancies therefore isn't really getting longer, but it's getting bushier. Derek's top lip is completely gone now (I think we lost it somewhere in Cape Town), and he's started quite an extensive grooming regiment for his new accessorie. It gets combed every day, it's even been shampooed and conditioned once or twice. He looks really different with this thing, but it looks good! Jen and G - you might want to warn Erica and Helen though, I'm not sure they will recognize him!

Derek and his very own red curry chicken
Today, we actually did an all day thai cooking course! It was fantastic! We made 6 different dishes, including, you guessed it, Red Curry Chicken (and curry paste from scratch might I add!). It was a great day, and we can't wait to get home and try all these recipes out on our own!!
Me cooking my fish cakes!
