After our days in Cape Town, we decided to rent a car and drive down to Cape Point (the most South Western point of Africa...geez what a stretch, when looking for something for tourists........South Western point!).

The drive was pretty short, and filled with amazing views.  The road is often cut into the side of the mountain, and we stopped several times along the way at beaches.

One of the beaches, happened to be the home of over 1000 Penguins.  Yes, Stephanie actually convinced me to go and visit another Penguin colony.  The same type of Penguins we saw in South America, the "African Penguin" was much more accessible here African Penguins!!
African Penguins!!
.  We were able to walk within feet of the furry tuxedoed creatures, and Steph was able to redeem herself.

We got several great pictures of Penguins (all will be provided to Helen Richardson - who happens to be a Penguin fanatic, I'm told).  With our shiny new camera, it seems to take some pretty good shots!!!

We spent the afternoon, walking around Cape Point, hiking to the tip which has a light house that is said to be seen from over 150 kM.

We finished the evening off, by driving to the small town of Stellenbosch, in the heart of South African wine country (Again, this place is like San Francisco, Napa and just California in general).  We enjoyed a meal at this crazy Lebenese restaurant, and crashed at our hostel, the quaintly named "Stumble Inn".  A pretty cool hostel, in the middle of a University town.

The next day we spent ridding in the back of a mini-van travelling at light speed, and listening to 80's beats through South African wine country.  Our guide seemed to be a distant relative of Brad Miller, sharing all his manerisims (but not his looks)......We went to 4 wineries and stopped for a great lunch.  I think we had 5 wines at each winery, most were really good, and a few were great.

All this great fun, and to top it off.  It was National Cleavage Day!........yes, National Cleavage Day in South Africa is April 4th.  So.........if you plan to come and visit South Africa in March, I highly recommend to delay your trip until early April.......oh.........Steph is coming, so I have to quickly change the subject in this blog!

Oh, and one thing we kept seeing signs for all over the area was "Don't feed the Baboon's"...........I wonder what that is all about?
