To maximize travel time we (D & G) are traveling on Virgin America's red-eye flight to JFK, New York. So by the time we arrive in the morning, 700AM, we'd be ready join the rest of New York to start our day!
We met up with our travel partners Jez and Orlando at SFO. If you ever fly Virgin America via SFO, don't forget the counter is located in the international terminal. Because we entered security in the international area we thought Duty Free pertained to us as well - NOT! it's only traveler's with an international boarding pass.
Boarding the plane was an experience like no other. The interior of the plane was obviously newer and modernly designed. The seats looked leather plushed and the ambiance was like entering a lounge in Las Vegas, with chill house music to accompany. The ceiling lights were a dimmed mix of purple, blue and pink which gradually changed as if was orchestrated with the music.
Each passanger seat had a large monitor that had a lot of options to watch tv, movies, chat with other passengers and order drinks. We were excited for our flight, everything seemed to make our long haul across country a comfortable one until.......a two year old boy and his mother sat in the aisle seat in our row!!! Fortunately the child was quite tamed and didn't fuss or scream but since it was in the middle of the night the boy slept....on the floor with his legs tresspassing into Gary's feet territory! Poor Gary couldn't move his legs in fear to wake up the boy! You know I synpathize with parents whol travel with their children, but on the other hand I do not ever want to be that person sitting in the same row as another child again, especially during a red-eye flight.
