Where I stayed
Hugs and kisses to lisa and soph as we took off into the foggy gray skies aboard the flying hipster lounge that is VirginAmerica.
Quick tangent: I love VA. It has the basic inconveniences of other airlines (cramped seats, coffin-like bathrooms, etc.) . But, the sleek white plastic seat backs, the periwinkle mood lighting, the light jazzy euro-pop plaing I the background -- it all works for me. Noah enjoyed being able to order your own drinks from the touchscreen.
Cabbed it to the hotel. It was a Prius. But, let me tell you, whatever good this guy did for the environment by his choice in car was certainly contracted by the greenhouse gasses that were coming from ...him
Our hotel is quite nice. "Caitlin" , who checked us in, was quite possible the most pleasant checker-inner I have ever been checked-in by. Noah was leased that we got a room on the 29th floor. Room is clean and comfy. We are right inthe heart of everything.
First Order of business: food! On Navy Pier is Harry Carey's Tavern. I spent the whole time thinking Will Ferrel was going to come bursting into the place, but, alas, no. Noah ate a whole pizza in like 40 seconds or something like that.
Then we scouted out the area. Showed Noah some of the outstanding architecture (Wrigley Building). Noah liked the guy we saw riding a wheel. Yes, just a wheel. One. No handles, no seat. Stood straight up and just went on one wheel.
Tomorrow we really hit the town with a Cubs game and some deep dish pizza!
