First thing of course was my run, which was barefooted on sand, then some brekkie. Got chatting away to that Korean bird again and told her that ins tea of logging around all day I'd go through the village and see if I could meet some real people
. Up for it also she decided to come. I absolutely loved walking around and taking pictures! Once again the warm friendliness of the people astounded me. It was a good two hour trek. Poor girl was getting partial sunburn, so taking pity on her I decided to call it a day and hard back. As we returned her mother and brother were furious with her! Seems she didn't notify them that she was coming on the tour and they grew concerned about her well being. I must admit I secretly hulked to myself as she got torn to shreds by her mum. It was even funnier that she was a thirty year old woman, still being spoken to like that. I kept my head down as I didn't want to also incur the wrath of her mother, who looked as though she meant business!
Later that evening it I played with the puts I'd taken on iPhoto and did what all other tourists and island villagers do in the evenings......Chill! I was off to another island tomorrow so it was needed. As looked at the photos I realised how good a time I've had here in such a short space of time. I really loved hanging out with the villagers and trying to get immersed in the culture. still it was onwards and upwards and tomorrow it was Bohol, here I come.
Last night was a special, night for me. Firstly I went to be at 10pm, which is the earliest I've probably gone to bed in over a decade - I was that tired! Secondly I was up at 6:30am, which make eight and a half hours of uninterrupted sleep. The first time that's also happened in more than a decade. I have a form of insomnia which makes it difficult to get a lengthy period of sustained kip, so when I woke up and saw the time in conjunction with how I felt, I got quite emotional actually. It was a weird feeling; having a good nights sleep, as I'd genuinely forgotten what that was like. I was now ready to take on the world! even if it was in the form of a small island.
