Flag of India  , Goa,
Monday, March 4, 2013

Had a rough nights sleep as the temperature here dropped considerably, to a degree I had to actually resort to wearing my thermals. Never thought I'd say that about Goa. Anyway I hit the sprint first thing to get that out the way and then for a strong coffee breakfast- they do make a mean coffee. The runway interesting as the locals look at me as I'm absolutely mad for running in this heat. Still maybe it's the Caribbean genetics in debut I seem to be able to handle it and love it to. The reception as you run past people is extremely positive! And as I moved up the road, I had flashbacks of Sylvester Stallone running through the streets of philly, to an adoring crowd. Once back at my hut as I decided that today would be more exploration, so I headed I head deeper along the village road and got myself one or two bits and pieces, then it was back to my lovely beach.

Met an Italian lady who'd been coming here for about twenty five years. Conversation sparked through photo taking and it resulted in me being led astray. Past the rocks which I thought was the end point of the beach, there is a path which leads you more uphill and givs you a better view of the overall surrounding. Titi - her nick name, 50-60yrs I reckon, took me up there, where I got some phenomenal pics. Once up there we sat down and talked about life and she had timed it just so we got to see the sunset. Beautiful thing, the sun setting! Of course that period of time was a time spent in silence. No thoughts, no reflection, just a mind that was completely calm and at peace, Then we strolled back to our huts, where another Tuborg awaited. Tiger king prawns for dinner and just feeling so happy at the moment. Agonda beach makes it hard to miss home.

Tess on

Try Morjim beach, very quiet or at least it was.

I think we stayed in Agonda, the beach hut looks familiar. Do you have to head outside for the "facilities" which are a hole in the ground boxed in and so bad in smell you would rather leave the door open?

Also head to Anjuna for the market and a possible beach party and finally Calangute beach for Suzy Lobo's, they do the best Goan Chilli fish curry but the rice is a bit greasy. Enjoy x
