Well the morning of the first was Ange's 33rd Birthday, we all got up and sorted brekkie before heading for the truck for a more sedate days travel. We only had to get as far as Nakuru by lunch. We got there and had a quick wander around, but we'd been there once before so it was quite relaxed then we got in a minibus to head for the Nakuru National Park. This park is almost on the outskirts of the town, but it is a beautiful area. We saw so many flamingo... apparently at some points there are up to 3million of them on the lake (a lake which is sadly shrinking), we then saw some Rhino...my first Rhino so that was quite exciting and we got within about 10 feet of 3 of them...pretty cool. We also saw some warthogs...and colombus monkeys...and baboons, giraffes and Zebra (but they are old hat now...we've seen them on the roadside before now!!!) while we headed high up to see the view from 'out of Africa' = it really is your classic african scrub scene...really beautiful. Once we left there we drove around for a while seeing if we could find some large cats (at which point the warm comfort of our minibus lulled me into a nice sleep) before we saw some hanging carcas... but no large cats...so headed back to the truck and grabbed some alcohol to head to our campsite with.

That night at the campsite was our first real taste of camping as it should be. We all helped with the cooking of bangers and mash whilst having a few drinks and a good natter with wind ups. Followed by cakes and custard...with jam beautifully spread on top by Ronnie...we couldn't really knock the pudding it was great! Then more sitting, laughing and a jovial evening...except when a couple of the guys came back from town and told us the england result...that soured spirits a little...but didn't tarnish a lovely night.

The following day all we had to do was head back to our campsite, so we got there for about 2pm after a stop at the Nakumatt supermarket for some more essentials (alcohol and sweets). Back at the campsite we chilled, set up our tents and drank wine (from the bottle...me and Kristy were sharing our bottles so it was easiest...and i knew the guys would kill me if i didn't put that bit in). Until 7pm when we left for the restarant. I have been told it is the most famous restaurant in Africa...it is called Carnivore and they just bring loads of types of meat round to your table...so we had Lamb, beef, sausages, camel, crocodile, ostrich, chicken...the crocodile tasted a bit fishy...the camel was a little under done for my tastes...the chicken was stunning...and we all drank a bit more and had a great meal (though tinged with Sadness as Kristy was leaving us the next morning to head down to Cape Town).

All we've done today is go to the Ethiopian Embassay to get our visas and hang around Nairobi city...Best go as i've already spent a fortune today. Will try and get photos on very soon but it's easier said than done.
