Well, the evening of the 7th just involved drinking in the bar, and evading elephants...and drunken people on my way to the loo in the night! The 8th started early with us heading back on a very bumpy road...unfortunately as we were close to our destination the engine noises changed for the worse! We hobbled to the town for some supplies and then to our campsite. Where Tracey and I cooked up the dinner for the group. The next morning two of the group went ahead as they flew out soon...and the rest of us sat and waited. To cut a long story short...the head piston had shattered, the mechanics couldn't fix it on Saturday, on sunday everything was closed, and on monday they put the engine together as best they could...advised us against driving it in that state but it was decided we would drive in it to Lusaka on the Tuesday to get us nearer the destination and nearer to parts. Meanwhile, with little access to anything but the expensive campsite...we played cards, cooked food and sat around talking. Whilst i got progressively more under the weather...a bad cough...Bronchitus...now being treated with Antibiotics and me happy again!
Well that's a short entry to cover 3 days...but there's not a lot more to say about that...the big green truck...showing who is boss...again!
