Well you nearly have me up to date...the 15th saw our arrival into Nairobi. We traveled within 40kms of Mount Kenya as we left our campsite so we took some sunrise shots of it as we passed, but without much else to note we arrived in Nairobi and did our grocery stop before hitting NPS - Nairobi Park Services Campsite (our home for the next 6 days...where we'd been twice before). We did a quick set up and Sara, Tracey, Ange Marc and I headed straight back out in a Matatu (taxi/bus) into Nairobi City to make the Massi Market that is only on Tuesdays...I ended up buying a really nice bowl...and the others bought various items before we had to hurry back before the Matatus got too busy with Nairobi rush hour. We beat the rush hour, chatted with some of the locals at the campsite...cooked dinner and didn't do much else.
Most of the rest of this week can be summed up as headed into town, used internet, shopped, ate, didn't eat coz was sick, rested, got better.
Only points to note were that we went to the Thorn Tree Restaurant which is a favourite with travelers who leave messages there for other travelers but is expensive food...but I wasn't eating much that day! And that today we went to the Giraffe Sanctuary where you can get close to the giraffes and feed them...it was really quite cool.
Today we've met some of our new passengers - Laura, Dee, Tamara and Chloe...3 more expected tomorrow...so I guess I should go and socialise with them! Will try and update as often as I can...but will be reliant on internet speed.
