14th August had us leaving Samburu Campsite, and heading through Isiolo with a few of the Samburu Tribe who needed to get to Nairobi for a funeral. They had children on board, which provided entertainment when we had to stop for a tyre change. At 12.30 we got to Nanyuki and did a little shopping and money exchanging, then as we headed out of town we headed over the equator for the last time on this trip until I fly home again...so stopped for photos before getting into camp to the tune of 'We Will Rock You' at about 3pm. There was a conference going on which I think would have preferred we didn't turn up in such style, but as it was a youth conference by the Kenyan Humans Rights Organisation I think we got away with it. Once we'd set up camp...we discovered a sign which had distances to both Cairo, Cape Town and London...so photos ensued, before heading off for a self guided nature walk...which guided us to the children's playground, where Sara, Ange, Greg and myself had great fun on the merry go round, the slide, the swings and the see-saw...why is it they are designed for children when they are so much fun. We did finally end up at the river...briefly...before heading back...the couple of hundred yards to the others who were going to join a football match with the youth groups...Sara, Tracey, Ange, Ronnie and I watched for a bit, but boring of that started dinner and got told all the drama of the 6-1 win by Greg's team over Jamie's team round the campfire that night.
