So last i left you with us waking up early on the felucca, and floating down the nile as the sun rose beautifully before me (i will import photos soon), and after the almost unbearable heat, there was a certain regret, but a certain relief to seeing our minibus arrive to take us on the next part of our journey. The minibus took us to kom ombo, which is another temple along the nile, it still had some of the original paint work, which on an external wall is really quite remarkable, it also had a mummified crocodile, which was kinda eerie to look at...The other thing it had was a toilet, and Ange and i were so pleased to meet with a toilet, we were almost late back to the minibus...little things grow in importance in this world! When we got back to the minibus the driver told us the next drive was an hour to Edfu temple so i could go in the front if i liked to give more space...he only needed to ask once, more room and a little cooler...i was there! However i should mention that the minibus had no air con, and was quite cramped so the guys in the back weren't quite so lucky as i

. We hurtled through villages in convoy with a police car behind us (as we were last in convoy) to get us to our next destination (due to past bombings they like to keep all tourits in the same spot and not slowing if possible...but as we were getting to Edfu, the police car went ahead to clear the road, and when he rejoined the back of the convoy he missed us, as we were a bit too far back...so we had to just try and keep up with the convoy for the last little bit - well i guess they try!! Edfu, i haven't got much comment for, at this precise moment it was another temple, it was getting hot again about 46 degrees c and it was busy! Ange took a photo of me with some monkeys in one of the rooms, and other than that we just stayed in the inside rooms finding shade, and then made our way back out, through the line of bazar shops asking where you are from and would you like to look as you are going through (you find these in large quantities at all the sites and you have to walk past them to get in...i bought some postcards (the addiction has returned Nix - people are already commenting!!) And got back in for the last part of our journey...the oasis beckoned...a hotel...with air con... ensuite...and a POOL...at this moment in time...i don't think there was anything more that we could think would make us happier in our wildest dreams at that moment! (oh and there was TV's - with the prospect of footie that beckoned most of the guys!)
