Entry 6 of 7 | show all | print this entry

The last few days I've been getting away from the city and exploring the rural areas around. On Monday I went to the Hakone area in Japan which had some spectactular views of mount Fuji and just some really beautiful scenery all round. Today I went to Nagano and saw the snow monkeys, which were kawaii. Both days I've seen copious amounts of snow. So much snow. It's really quite beautiful. Unfortunately I have lost my card reader so I can't yet show you, but hey, it's only a week, I'm sure those of you who are reading can wait, right?

Japan is, in some respects, a really different place. Of course there are similarities. They like to reserve themselves, bottling everything up then hit the Tabako and Sake (cigarettes and alcohol, which are commonly displayed on shopfront doors), or unwind on a Sunday in the park. It actually sounds quite similar, but they do it to such an extent that it is quite amazing.

Speaking Japanese is much harder than I thoguht, though I'm managing. Kinda. Two years and where does it get you? Maybe I should have studied harder...

I think that's all I have to say for now. I will be back on Australian shores on Monday. Sono toki made, I will make the most of what Tokyo has to offer!

I will also try and find a card reader
