We're getting ready to get off the boat and see Jamaica. It will be good to be on solid ground again. A lot of us were dealing with light headedness yesterday.

Have a great Monday...ours will be!!

Our day started in the Dining room with breakfast. It was our first time to eat there in the morning. Then it was back to the room for our first land in a couple of days.
Jamaica was all that it was billed to be except we didn't get any rain all day. It was HOT and MUGGY with little breeze (did we really leave Kansas?). We were hassled constantly for taxis, money and to buy a ton of things we didn't want.
We chose to walk into town from the dock and hit the 'recommended' shopping areas. It was a 10 minute walk to the furthest shopping. Once we hit the first store, it pretty much looked the same in every other store afterwards with some minimal variations. There are a LOT of jewelry stores and it appears to be the big seller. The ship had a 'workshop' on how and where to buy what kinds. The Dick family all managed to spend some money before boarding the ship again. We did manage to find a grocery store to buy some bottled water and gum. We paid in US dollars and received local currency in return. We all managed to find a local beggar to get rid of most of it.
Everyone was back on the ship a couple of hours early to lounge and relax. Grandma watched a number of people run the dock at 4:00 which was the deadline. I don't think anyone got left behind.
The shopping area was having a raffle just before the evening meal and Doug managed to hold a winning ticket and Joel held a ticket only one number away from winning.
Our evening waiter has taken to us. He is from the Philippines and has just finished the first month of a 6 month contract. He says the worst part of the job is being away from his 9 and 13 year old daughters. He knew all our names by the second night and has slipped us some extra goodies along the way. The meals have been very good and tomorrow night is Lobster!
After the meal tonight we went to the theater to see the original Drifters. They looked 'original' but still sounded good and sang 'Under the Boardwalk' and others.
It's pushing midnight and most of the crew is in bed. Tomorrow is George Town, Grand Cayman.
