After driving for a while we chose to stop in a town called Lake Tekapo. The hostel was nice enough but in the morning we found that the place was simply beautiful. New Zealand has a tree that I am not used to seeing. Maybe it is very common in Maine or something but it is new to me. It grows straight and tall and has lots of short branches with leaves that are currently all sorts of interesting colors. These trees are everywhere and they are beautiful, like something from a fantasy story.

There wasn't much to do in town but enjoy the beautiful lake surrounded by mountains so we left with happiness in our souls and pondered the possibility of running a bed and breakfast in this quiet little town.
