The following story appeared in the Williston Herald: http://www.willistonherald.com/articles/2008/06/05/local_news/news1.txt
Local radio personalities Ross Carpenter and Earl Gross interviewed Don for Power 95.1 FM KTHC and 660 KEYZ Country. Unfortunately, these interviews were not recorded.
A story was run by the local NBC affiliate, KUMV-TV. Unfortunately, the story is not listed on the station's website, and no one has said they recorded it.
Before checking out of the Travel Host, the wife of the general manager, Robert Stenehjem, came and introduced herself to Don and Loretta, telling them that she has a sister-in-law who is in her last days due to HD. She wanted to personally thank them for their efforts to raise awareness.
We received an email from North Dakotan Jody Schroeder:
Don, I think what you are doing is wonderful!! My name is Jody Schroeder from Powers Lake North Dakota, my family has been devastated by this disease. My mother passed away from it when I was 16 (she was a sister of Don Bykonen from Auburn). I have two sisters that have been struck by this disease, one of which is in the nursing facility in Tioga North Dakota. I currently do not show signs but am only 31. It haunts me every day of my life!! Again thank you for bringing some attention to the disease!! I will be sending my donation soon!!
