On Tuesday, May 6, Don and Loretta made it into Idaho and stopped just east of Priest River. They went back to Newport to stay for the night at The Walden House Bed and Breakfast (www.thewaldenhouse.com), where they were hosted by Farren and Jolene Walden. From their website: "The Walden House Bed and Breakfast is our family home of over 6,000 square feet, where we have enjoyed raising our 15 children... Take a stroll and visit nearby Pend Oreille River."
This morning a man by the name of George Douglas bought the Stevensons' breakfast in Priest River.
Today the rain is pouring down, but Don plods on toward Sandpoint. It's likely that he will walk past Sandpoint, but the parents of one of the Pacin' Parson Group members, Miranda Bodus, have offered to buy them dinner and a room for the night in Sandpoint. Miranda's parents work on the estate of Dr. Forrest Bird, the inventor of the medical respirator. Read about Dr. Bird at wikipedia.com.
