Since first visiting this town in 1998 and 2007 and again now, I have always felt so at peace here in Villa General Belgrano. I love this town.

  My days are as follows..

Wake about 10.30am to 11am but have also been known to sleep until noon.  My room here has wooden shutters and when closed the room is black, black and I don't know if it is day or night. It is great for sleeping

Breakfast is usually a yoghurt and fruit and then it is off to the shops to buy the food for lunch.
First stop the butcher and I have made friends with Martin and Walter and they have great meat. Sometimes it is hard to describe the cut of meat I want, but we always get there.

Next stop is the bakery.  Oh yum all those cakes and pastries.  Even at the bakers your goodies are so beautifully wrapped as are all the purchases you make from any shop.

Then it is up the road to the supermarket.  At least here I can look around for what I need.  The supermarket has a butcher and bakers on site.  I was talking to a couple from Cordoba in the supermarket, in English, but generally most people do not speak English.

On the way home, if I need more fruit or vegetables there is a little shop I pass that I can buy from.

Home to cook lunch for Gloria and Edward.  Edward loves his food and thinks it is good having two wifes - one to work with him and one at home cooking.

Lunch is usually around 1.30pm and then it is time for a, siesta or whatever.  The shops are shut .from about 1.30pm until 5.30 - 6.00pm.  With my waking up so late I havenīt been having a siesta, and yesterday it was the meeting of the artists group that Gloria and Edward belong to.
I wipped up a batch of scones and we had Gloria's homemade jam.  Yummy.

The garden, a most beautiful peaceful area, and where I like to sit and knit or my latest project is stripping the cast iron chairs back to be painted. I even went to the hardward shop and purchased a scrapper and sand paper.  So nice working in the garden with the birds singing, and you can hear the water flowing in the stream.  Is it any wonder I love this place.

Wednesday afternoons Gloria has off, so we headed up to a couple of shops I wanted to see.  One is a weavers shop and making the most beautiful Scottish Tartans.  What a great shop.  Next stop was a beatuiful gift and clothes shop. Oh what I could buy here, but I only have 23kg I can carry don't I.

Nightful is about 7.00pm these days, and you can feel the Autumn nights getting cooler, but most comments from the locals is how warm the weather still is.

There always seems to be plenty to do at night and Tuesday night Gloria and I went to a book presentation.  This was followed by some flamingo dancing which I really enjoyed.  One lady was 82 and just as good as the young dancers.

Last night Gloria was treated to a foot massage, and then around 10.00pm I made Edward a beef and gravy roll.  Usually a light meal is eaten around 10pm or so, and then it is off to bed for me around 11.30pm or so.

And this ends a day for me in Villa General Belgrano.
